But whoever coined use it or lose it was probably talking about balance. Around age 30, our muscles gradually start to weaken and our vision gets fuzzier, making balance even more challenging. It’s not always easy to notice when your balance is deteriorating, and many adults don’t realize that they are getting more wobbly with age, which is part of why 1 in 3 adults over age 65 take a serious fall each year.
